Our program starts by getting emotion and intellect to work together. This type of training has never been done before. That’s why we’re getting a patent. It’s no secret that since the beginning of time, all training has tried to change behavior by talking to the intellect . It’s a waste of time unless one’s emotions cooperates, and it almost never does. We change behavior at the emotional level where real change occurs.
Training fails when an attempt to learn something new is being blocked. Unless a person can remove that blockage or fear, intellectual training alone, will fall on deaf ears and not change their behavior.
The typical results of intellectual training are:
- Some gain nothing.
- Some get mediocre results that usually are not sustainable.
- It works on a very few.
When an employee is not interested in dealing with their emotions and aligning them with their goals, they are untrainable. As a manager or business owner, how much money have you wasted trying to train those who are untrainable? How many resources have you wasted in trying to train even those who are willing, but you lacked the tools to overcome this age-old obstacle?
I mean no disrespect to other training programs because without the new knowledge that we have uncovered, they can’t produce consistent results. Also, it’s important to know that our program does not compete with other training programs. Professional and business success is all about results and we’re getting them by using this approach. My oldest business grew slowly for over 30 years and in the last six years tripled in size. Within three years we will offer the first franchise opportunity in our industry.
We have salespersons routinely doubling and some even tripling their sales. We are teaching new trainees who have never sold anything to be effective in six months with sales closing ratios in the 70th percentile.
Our ability to create a salesperson where there was none has unlimited opportunity for our clients as well as ourselves. 80% of sales people struggle. As business owners and managers, we just keep recycling each other’s hiring failures and hope for the best. It never works out. Occasionally, we find a natural born salesperson, whose emotions are aligned with their goals and we get lucky.
A properly trained salesperson is more valuable to a company than just about any other asset that they could have. On average each sales hiring failure cost their company about $250,000. In my industry, each trainee who takes the training seriously will produce about $500,000 of gross profit per year for their company. That’s how we’ve tripled our company size in just three years.
We have a very good hiring process but it’s never foolproof. On average, most companies will invest two years to see if a new salesperson will be a producer. We used to do that as well. This is the best part. In six to eight weeks, we can identify a trainee who will not make it. This reduces our cost to about $20,000 instead of $250,000; a savings of $230,000. That’s real money to be saved because our program is that predictable.
Out of necessity, I invested my entire business life searching for the answer to creating salespeople. Then I realized that the same reason salespeople fail is why my other employees have a problem changing their behaviors and what that has cost my business.
A quick example:
My customer service representatives do not have dominant behavior and when they are pushed hard by one of my dominant customers, they usually shut down. This can cost me anywhere from a few hundred dollars to thousands.
My solution is to train everyone in my company to align their emotions with the job they perform for me and to help them become expert in dealing with people. I estimate that any company that helps all of their employees improve this way, will add about 5% to their annual profit.
The good news is that I have added a third program for foundational employee development, and I made it subscription based. It starts at $49 per month for a few employees and and only $199 per month for up to 100 trainees. I don’t want money to be a barrier to this benefit.
That brings me to my last topic. I’ve owned my own business since 1972 and I came to realize that a happy employee is a productive employee. Most employees are reasonable and want to do a good job. As business owners and managers, we have to realize that there are three parts to their life: at work, at home and their relationship to themselves. They can’t come out of a toxic home life and leave that behind. They can’t abuse themselves and be productive. Our program addresses this by teaching them what is causing destructive behaviors and how to overcome them.
I don’t want to overpromise and misrepresent our program. It’s not the end to every problem that you might have in your business, but it is the starting point to build a culture in your company that allows your customers, your employees, and your company to win.
